The fact that I got permanently banned is ridiculous. My first "warning" was for xraying, but I thought we went over this. Like 6 years ago some random dude in my village was hacking and he gave me a ton of diamonds because of it. Not knowing that he was hacking, I took the diamonds and left. When I logged back on I was in jail with a warning for hacking. This was ages ago and I explained exactly what I just explained at the time.

The main reason I got banned is because of "harassment". Whenever OctoGamer and I happen to be online at the same time (which is almost never), my friend and I have this little joke where we immaturely say stuff in chat like, "yo octo mad gay" and "yo fuck that octo dude". Octo has said that we have been doing this for years, which is a huge stretch. We have done this like 3 times over that past 2 or years. This is not true harassment. I never intended to seriously inconvenience Octo and I never intended to cause him serious problems. The day I got banned was the first time that Octo has stressed to me that this upsets him and that he is seriously bothered by it. If Octo told me a long time ago that what I consider to be a harmless troll was seriously upsetting him then I would have stopped, but he never did. I don't consider immaturely saying "hey octo you mad gay" to be bullying or harassment. It is just a harmless troll.

Additionally, I was never notified of the warnings that Octo brought up the day I was banned. I don't ever recall formally receiving any warnings for harassment, if I knew there was a chance of me getting banned if I were to continue those actions, I would have stopped. You can not give someone a warning, not even tell them, and then bring up those warnings when deciding to ban them.

I'm not denying that I don't deserve any kind of punishment, and I will definitely tone down what I say in chat if I get unbanned. However, getting permanently banned for saying "yo octo is gay" on a server prides itself on having FREE SPEECH is absolutely absurd. He could temporarily mute me or easily do /ignore. I hold no actual hatred towards anyone on the server and I obviously don't mean anything I say. When I said, "consistency is the key" it was a simple joke/troll. I am more than willing to talk to Octo and work something out.

Yeah, you've got X-ray, harassments warning, harasment ban before this one off the top of my head. none of the other staff seemed opposed to what I was saying, and you pretty much summed up the story well for me here so I don't have to retype it again.

and like I said, its not about saying "yo octo is gay" its about everytime you come on for years saying it, and yes, years. I will go back into the logs and find the village I protected the same week this started happening because I remember throwing up houses when I was building up an underground base just to protect it to get you out of my land.

doing this shit everytime we are on the server together even though i've told you to stop is harrasment, and when I asked you the remarks you said further proved to me that you were just had nothing better to do.

the server does pride itself on freedom of speech but this isn't really a freedom of speech matter if you really think about the issue I addressed to you here and on the server.
and you saying "I'm butthurt" and "I'm mad" and "I'm gonna cry about it" (paraphrasing) really doesn't help your "its a joke" infact those comments lean me even more towards the bullying side, which again, it didn't offend me - this has just been going on for years and i'm sick of it. I login and see the shazam nickname and i just expect it to come. its like clockwork dude like I said on VC.

As octo said most of the staff seemed to be okay with the punishment so I wish you luck on the appeal.

Here is a link to all of the times that Shazam has called Octo gay within the past two or so years. I got those from the discord message log, unfortunately I dont have access to the real logs so I cant find evidence of it being a more long term thing or not. Is it possible for the dates for the previous harassment ban and warnings to be found? Those might be relevant.

As far as the nuances and whether that constitutes harassments, I have no idea and It's not my place to say anything about it. However, I think it may have been a better idea to give Shazam an official warning instead of saying "stop" twice, then perma-banning him. Shazam is a pretty long term player iirc, I think that especially in those cases, the people enforcing those rules should try to remain professional; even if they're annoyed. In addition, this whole conflict probably would have never gotten to this point with an official warning. Shazam stated that he would have stopped had Octo been more clear about him being banned if he continued. A more professional attitude towards these types of things would most likely save everyone time.
