CRH244:

--- Quote from: kale on  9 August 2022, 05:06:19 PM ---I would still like it to be known that I wasn't aware of a fighting pact or agreement. It was clear that I entrusted crh to lead me to an area. I still feel wronged and, that this isn't outmarting because there wasn't any special moves or attack that would make it a fair game. This attack was out of pure malicious intent, like I said before if my head was what he wanted I would have given it. My current balance doesn't affect this situation, I only once have been killed by crh and since then he was been helpful so there was no reason to not trust him. I ask other players for help all the time.

As previously stated, no rules were broke. You do not need a fighting pact or agreement to fight someone in a pvp zone. I have absolutely no idea what you mean by this not being outsmarting because "there wasn't any special moves or attack that would make it a fair game." It does not matter the intent of my attack, it was legal if it was "malicious" or not.

Akomine:
My opinion:
VC doesn't require a fighting agreement or pact, but instead recognizes peace agreements. In in-game chat, request a peace agreement or "no-kill" and make sure the other person agrees, then a pact is made (by default for several minutes) and we can see it in the server logs, and the Staff will enforce it should it be broken. Please see Rule 12 for that.

Otherwise what we're dealing with here is Rule 10, which is combat in PVP-On zones, which is allowed.

In my opinion no rule was broken in this instance.

Sorry you lost some items, consider privately talking to CRH to see if he'd be interested in returning anything, tho it's up to him. And in the future, consider using peace agreements to keep the peace in PVP zones.

Also, I wanted to add that Legend pointed out to me today that VC used to be very PVP-focused, but isn't all that much at the moment. I think people are a bit out of practice with handling it, probably yourself included. Let this be a lesson to everyone that PVP zones are kinda the wild west.

This server does have a long history of PvP, and although the current playerbase does not usually kill each other, it is nevertheless important to understand that VC is a survival server, and that deceit and unexpected kills do happen. This is no different really than a player finding you in the outlands and them killing you by surprising you, other than that he claimed he was trying to help you. Although that might be seen as mean, being mean is not against the rules. In the future, make sure to have peace arrangements in place, or be prepared for a fight, if you want to avoid this happening again.

If there is not any other evidence, I think we can say that staff are in agreement that no rules were broken here and it is up to you and CRH to work it out.
