Rules | Info | Support / -Clarified VillageCraft Rules-

There are rules on the server that are not currently clear. This topic is here to clarify those rules.
Please, reply to this thread by asking us to clarify a rule, suggest a new rule, suggest removal of a rule, or suggest a rule be changed.
When you post, when reasonable to do so we will edit it by adding a line under what you typed saying:
Added
Added means it becomes part of the list of clarified rules in the original post.
Go ahead and ask about rules or discuss them or try to add to the list! The list will start small and continue to add up. The more we get the more the server will be cleaned up of these uncertain rules!

Clarified Rules:
1. Teleport Killing (TP Killing, TP Attacking, TP Combat)
Definition: Using teleporting for the purposes of PVP combat. Includes killing, attempted killing, attacking, trapping, or any hostile act involving teleporting.
Rule: Allowed, except when:
-An agreement is made in chat to be peaceful. If someone contravenes this they can be punished beyond a warning on 1st offence. You cannot avoid this rule by agreeing to be peaceful and then getting another player to kill the victim instead. Furthermore, if you are in a no-kill agreement and want to teleport someone else to you, you must first have them agree to be peaceful as well.
-A new player on the server is unfairly baited into a TP kill, in which case Staff can get the items back - There generally needs to only be a warning to the culprit. Please don't take advantage of new players.
2. Trade Scamming (Tricking players, Theft)
Definition: Trading with players and not committing to your side of the deal. Also known as trade theft or just being a douche. (Includes all types of trades).
Rule: Not Allowed
-This is considered stealing and scamming, and definitely not allowed under any circumstances.
3. Grief (Vandalism, Destroying claimed blocks/items)
Definition: The destruction, theft, and/or placement of blocks (including lava or water) that vandalizes and ruins any creation made by a player. Includes any player creation that was built by a current player who has logged on in the last 2 months, was built in the last 2 months, or any creation that is still in use or was clearly in use in the last 2 months. Does not include "Salvaging" (see #4).
Rule: Not Allowed
Grief is a basic rule and has always been against the rules. Rule of thumb: if destroying it is going to cause someone grief, don't destroy it. To help figure out how old something is, use "/lb toolblock" to check LogBlock logs and see how long ago blocks were placed. Also use "/seen" to check server files and see how long ago the player(s) who built the blocks were online. If in doubt, ask Staff.
Village owners who clearly have a rule stating they can alter or remove constructions that do not conform to a village rule can remove/alter the structure without it being considered grief. If the person who lived there built it with their own materials, those materials should be returned to them, unless it was grief in the first place.
Salvaging is not grief, and is covered below.
4. Salvaging (Destroying/altering abandoned structures)
Definition: Destroying/altering abandoned creations that are at least 2 months old and are not currently in use.
Rule: Allowed
If LogBlock and "/seen", as well as your own intuition all show that the structure/creation is clearly at least 2 months old and has clearly been abandoned for at least 2 months, you may destroy it and keep the items, or even claim it and take it over. Salvaging is not grief.
To help figure out how old something is, use "/lb toolblock" to check LogBlock logs and see how long ago blocks were placed. Also use "/seen" to check server files and see how long ago the player(s) who build the blocks were online. If in doubt, ask Staff.
You may also salvage random blocks sitting in the Outlands without waiting for 2 months to pass. This includes dirt/cobble towers, crude bridges/steps used in adventuring, and other very minor constructions that nobody would ever complain about if removed.
5. AFK Bypassing (Away-From-Keyboard Bypassing, Anti-Idle Machines, Idle Machines, AFK Pools)
Definition: Any method used to intentionally avoid VillageCraft's 30-minute AFK time limit for idling players. This is often done with any mechanism that keep's the idle player moving around (such as water flowing in a circuit), thus tricking the server into thinking they are actively playing.
Rule: Not Allowed
This practice is considered "cheaty" because it can be used to hoard entities at a mob farm/spawner (and minecraft has a mob limit), and can add lag to the server which harms active players. Please don't bypass the AFK limit out of respect to others on the server. Leniency will be given to those who only use it to watch chat, or something else non-cheaty. [Note: Rule added by 5-2 Staff Vote]
6. Iron Golem Farms (Iron Farms, Iron Golem Spawners, Iron Spawners)
Definition: A machine that produces iron by using villagers to exploit spawn mechanics to create iron golems.
Rule: Not Allowed
Because iron is such a valuable item in the game, we unfortunately have to restrict these farms in order to preserve the VC economy. [Note: Rule added by 8-2 Staff Vote]
Exemptions: The owners of existing farms can negotiate a compromise to keep the farm - Please contact Akomine.
Current Exemption Agreements: OctoGamer & lishman77's farm.
REPEALED by a staff vote of 11-2.
7. Profanity, Free Speech & Expression (Swearing, Cussing, 'bad' words/images)
Definition: Anything that is not harassment that can be considered objectionable or offensive or controversial.
Rule: Allowed
Profanity is always allowed under VillageCraft's long-standing policy of Free Speech & Expression. This means objectionable, controversial, and/or distasteful things can be said and created in-game. Free speech does not include harassment. VillageCraft refuses to enforce any censorship on free speech & expression. We understand that free speech can offend some people; you have the right to be offended, but you do not have the right to censor someone else based on your personal preferences.
There are rules on the server that are not currently clear. This topic is here to clarify those rules.

I never really played Pokemon games as a kid, except for Pokemon Yellow (Pikachu addition or something) Though I was too young to get far at all in it because I was stupid as fuck.
I just recently wanted to start playing pokemon games because they are quite fun and I really enjoyed playing my first one, Pokemon Ruby and am now starting Pokemon FireRed which I've barely started but am liking already!
I am really interested in playing a large majority of the pokemon games and I was wondering for anyones opinion on their favorites and anything related to pokemon.
Thoughts?

I played Pokemon Ruby for about 6 hours, and when I attempted at saving I hit a button by accident, and it restarted the emulator. I lost all the progress. I had some decent shizz and I want to kill somebody. and may or may not take all of that anger out on VC by banning everyone.

I can lock most of my chests, but some I just can't. I hold the sign and right click the chest and it just opens it. I have tried many many ways, no luck. Wondering if this is an actual problem and if anyone else is having it?

Hello everyone, In the village beside Qualia I am sure you guys have all heard of, is greystone estates, owner Islid, and Actmyname. In that village, I own a shop, the shop consists of full sets of infinite diamond armor for the qualia price. And the rest is a limited amount. It has enchanted diamond tools, for low cheap prices! The enchants are not horrible, and very affordable! Most of the enchanted Items are under 5k. Though the best ones are usually around 5k.
The shop is made of planks and cobblestone incase you look for it, I have not just tools there but also tons of others.
The BEST part about my shop, is that I sell a LOT of things that Qualia Doesn't sell! So, if you guys are looking for bookcases, or anything else Qualia doesn't sell, then come down to my shop and purchase as much as you would like.

Reports & Grievances / Chandler's Small Griefing Incident

Well, this is nothing to worry about, clearly he was the type of player that just wants to get to the playing, so he skipped the rules (Stupidly) so he had no idea of how to play, He had asks about raiding and such, and eventually learned of our "Abandoned" scenario which he did obviously not understand very well since, he later asked "Is this town abandoned" I then tp'd to him to see which town, and there I was in Qualia market. So, there is just the proof of how he skipped the rules... or barely read them, and is clueless of what he can even do. So what I have done is jailed him to talk to him and to make sure he reads the rules and help office so that he can understand how to play better. Now about the griefing incident, he once again had no idea of rules, and started digging holes in our Qualia gravel paths, which brakes the rules of : Griefing and Douchebaggery , it is douchebaggery since... why the hell brake our paths that we made for people 
, and griefing for.... well, griefing. In conclusion, I made broadcasts while watching him saying stuff like "Remember not to grief Qualia paths, and if so, fill them in!" Which was funny since he started filling it in right away, showing he did not know of the rule, or possibly just was grieifing and had a clue I was watching him. Anyways, he eventually filled it in, and because of how clueless he is I will stay with my plan to jail him and force him to go through and read all of the spawn and /help signs, since I already recommended before all of what happened to him. So, once him and me next meet, I will unjail, force to read all spawn rules and /help rules, and then ask questions after to see if he TRULY understands, if he doesn't, he can serve a small punishment.
TIP: Always read rules when you join a server, it honestly helps a ton!!

The Siege Of Qualia, Started by admin Bl4ck_St0neThen made into a bigger and better event when admin Akomine Tagged along, and started making the event a really amazing time for the participants.
What In The World Was It? The Siege Of Qualia was an incredible event, where almost everyone who was on Villagecraft at the time was warping to the Qualia Market, and fighting hordes of mobs during the night, and preparing during the day. In the end the Ultimate Boss came to finish off Qualia, but the people came together, and slayed the Dragon!
The Mobs
The mobs are:
Giant : Spawned Spiders At It's Feet
Pigmen : Spawned Creepers Around Itself
Doggies : To Protect The Warriors Of Qualia
The Minions Are:
Spiders
Creepers
The Ultimate Boss:

Firstly... JANUARYJONES is one of the most kind people on the server, and dislike people for fucking REASONS, Like god I saw her post and I felt so bad for Jan, becuase I have seen what few people have been saying to her, that she is a douchebag and such that she put into the post that she made. Honestly, if you are all going bash up Jan because of a few errors she has made as mod or as a friend, then FUCK OFF She is a amazing person that helps out the server a ton! She helps out the members and staff by protecting towns, helping people with stuff, and a ton more! For example: When the showcases were down people would be asking jan for stuff.... I would always think wtf....? Strange.. what ever. Then someone asked jan for like 2 stacks of sandstone... and she said okay.. she goes out into the fucken desert and starts collecting it all, and gives it to them for free. Jan is amazing and i love having her on VC as a friend and as a mod. So if you dislike this or think different honestly FUCK ...OFF! We don't want to deal with this INCREDIBLE amount of BS 24/7 So lay off and let some of us relax every now and then.

Some People are complete douchebags during PVP, and piss off a lot of people that play, and I want to see, since these people are some of the people that get complaints on it, should get punishments and such, for douchey Pvping, such as logging out during a fight, using mccmo to take items and leave.. Or just killing in cheap ways.
