"DOMA is unconstitutional as a deprivation of the equal liberty of persons that is protected by the Fifth Amendment."

It's probably about time the rest of this country got their heads out of their asses.
Sick of blatant rights being denied.

This is good news :D

Murica takes a baby step towards not being the biggest hypocritical asshole in town.
I wish the court went a bit further in its ruling, but at least this is something. Something big.

Separation of church and state, equal protection under the law, and the protection of minorities from the tyranny of the majority - these are all things the US is supposed to hold dear. How exactly is the religiously-influenced legal discrimination against homosexuals even remotely close to any of those things?

This is a good lesson in fighting for your rights. Freedom isn't free.

And PARDON ME for saying, but this is also a good lesson in how religion has a massive influence on us all. A massive bigoted, oppressive, closed-minded, uncompassionate, hate-filled influence. Glad to see empathy and reason won today. kthxbai.
