Drones to deliver parcels in Australia next March. A package delivery company plans to use completely automated drones to deliver parcels. They will use GPS to land near your target outdoor destination and should land within a few minutes after being sent. Of course not real AI, they just home in on a GPS location, so no threat of Terminators yet, but this is a really cool idea!

But do they just dump the parcels at your doorstep? What if somebody steals the package?

If you read the article lol it tells you. You need an app on your phone. You tell them where to make the drop and be there at delivery time. When you see the drone stand under it and use a button on the app, the drone will then lower the parcel for you. If you aren't there it will just hover out of reach for a while then return.
