Title: Server Revival Plan
Post by: Theologist_Green on 5 March 2020, 09:49:00 PM
New Player Task Force Plan

We present a collection of goals that a group of players, the New Player Task Force, will undergo in the following months to revitalize the server. The Server's Activity has massively declined recently as a result of many issues facing the server.  These problems include inactive staff and player base, outdated plugins, a confusing spawn area, and inaccessibility of information including history and server knowledge. The results are already visible due to the lack of funds, which recently forced a downgrade of the server.  These negative changes will only get worse over time.

In response to this; We, a group of independent and non-moderator players, will work on the problems that the server faces. We will take the following actions that we believe will help retain new players and ensure the long term success of the server:

Plan and execute an extensive advertisement campaign.
Build a new spawn located away from Qualia, as it is large and confuses new players.
This new spawn will be located in one of the 5 million, 5 million quadrants and will have TPs to each of the other 5 million, 5 million quadrants.
A new and streamlined shop for basic materials. It will not replace the current Qualia market.
A new and streamlined guide and info section.
Suggest new and active staff who will be compassionate and enthusiastic towards the server and help new players.
We believe that Veteran Staff should retain their positions, on the condition that they contribute to the server.
Inactive staff still deserve recognition (e.g. Ex-Staff tag), however, knowing that inactive staff don’t contribute to the server is crucial.
Replace the RTP plugin so it works with worldguard and increases range.
We have found a plugin too use that we will share.

Many things on this list will be worked on independently by the New Player Task Force. However, cooperation with the staff would be appreciated. We will keep in touch.

Can we refer to this as the great leap forward?

We got the staff to start nominating new staff which is nice. The other day CD helped to lay out the hologram outside of the relocated spawn. Though rn we are mostly halted by not having perms to do stuff. Though since Mango has SM we can probably work on stuff more now.

For what it's worth, if anyone feels like they're missing perms (staff or otherwise), let me know and I'll try and fix it. If staff want the ability to do something, I'll usually give it to them if it's useful for the server. If players want a permission, I'll see what I can do to add it without it being too OP.

If you don't tell me, I can't fix it :P
