The other thread lagged a bunch when I tried to post because of how many quotes there were, so I'm starting a new one.
"What is the next poster's favorite color?" -@gerrit70
Purple.
If the next poster were to get a tattoo, what would it be and why? If you already have one, what is the meaning behind it?

Thinking big - I'd love to manage the National Archives.
For the next poster - what's a rather unique and obscure niche/interest you have?
Idk if you would call this unique or obscure, but ever since I started working in the theatre I have found myself obsessed with lighting and light design.
I also enjoy myself a good knife collection.
For the next poster - What's one thing you're terrified of doing but want to do before you die?

For the next poster - What's one thing you're terrified of doing but want to do before you die?
Not really terrified of it but tracking big game for a few days and hunting it is definitely in my bucket list even though I've never hunted. It's just one of those things that call to a man. Just one lil hunting trip, bag a bull elk and harvest and freeze that big boy.
Next poster - Most terrifying moment in your life so far?
-
Most terrifying moment... I think that has to be recently when I had a 105 degree fever for 4 days in a row. Definitely had me a bit scared.
(PS. this is a great idea and we should keep this going forever cuz it's fun as fuck)
Next poster: Weirdest thing you've ever seen a complete stranger do?

If the next poster could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Hmm, probably like Ireland or some sort of nordic country. I'm a slut for cold, rainy weather and a beautiful countryside.
For the next poster: Tea or coffee? Or maybe neither. Why?

Hmm, probably like Ireland or some sort of nordic country. I'm a slut for cold, rainy weather and a beautiful countryside.
For the next poster: Tea or coffee? Or maybe neither. Why?
I like both, and tend to drink coffee more in the summer and when I'm working mornings. In the winter, I'm a tea whore. Earl Grey, chocolate mint, and maple are the best types by far, or anything fresh from the garden. Always a splash or 3 of milk, no sugar needed.
For the next poster: If you had the opportunity to go to Mars and must stay for at least 6 months, would you take the opportunity?

I drive a pristine white, 2011 Chevy Malibu. Though I miss my OG Chevy Blazer, that thing is a tank. I bought my car because commuting to school I need something more fuel efficient.

I recently found out that I have some family that lives in Saariselkä, Lapland (northern Finland). It'd be really cool to go up there in the winter to cross country ski, or see the northern lights. I've always been a sucker for northern towns : P

One could say I'm a gluten for monotony because I love doing crafts in my freetime, especially those seen as monotonous. Paint with diamonds is a newfound favorite (look it up, it's actually really beautiful). I also am obsessed with yoga, though I don't do it enough

What got the next poster into playing Minecraft?
My friend had MCPE on his Kindle Fire, and I thought it looked really cool. I had a couple knockoff versions first, because they were free, but eventually I begged my parents to buy me the actual game on my tablet. I think I was seven at the time. Later on, me and my brother saved chore money together to get the PC version on our mom's laptop. It was my first ever computer game (outside of things like webkinz and starfall), and I had to look up youtube tutorials to figure out that you use WASD to move etc, haha.

Groucho's Deli, by a landslide.

I just figured out a Frozen Ocean is a thing and the icebergs took my breath away they were so beautiful and massive.

What is the next poster's ideal night out?
-
Going to a nice restaurant for dinner and catching a play at the local Play House.
Next poster, Which famous person would you like to meet and why?
-
Boring answer but I don't know that there's a celebrity I'd like to meet, I think no matter the person I'd be really nervous that they'd be a butt and it'd ruin my perception of them. Alternatively I'd be nervous that I was being annoying, in the scenario that they're quite nice.
What are the next poster's three most treasured items? (i.e. nostalgic, useful, would be most disappointed about if the house burned down)
-
My family quilt, my painting of our hometown, and my grandmother's rocking chair that I now have
-
(Yvette also posted a reply just as I was about to hit send, I'm going to post it anyway because why not. Apologies for messing up the flow of the thread)
I thought about this for a long time, because both me and my dad are huge hoarders so we've got loads of stuff in the house that'd we'd want to save, so picking 3 is hard. (I'm answering this from the house burning down point of view)
On the one hand, I'm a data hoarder, I never delete anything. If a drive gets full, I just buy a new one, so at first I thought probably my most important drive. The more I thought about it though, everything major is backed up online and offline in a different building, so really losing any of that would be an inconvenience but not so important I consider it a treasure. I realised though we've got a box full of probably thousands of photos, spanning many decades. That would be devastating to lose. We're slowly working on digitising them, but right at this moment that's a long way from being complete. Depending on the size and location of the fire it would be hard to save the whole box (it takes two to carry it), but in a rush I'd try and grab the negatives from it (remember those kids?), so it could be rebuilt. For a more personal item, I've got a fluffy rabbit teddy thing which I've had since I was born. He's currently sitting on my shelf watching over my room, but that'd be one of the easiest things to grab in a fire that'd upset me if the house burnt down. For the final one, there were loads of other memories and things I'd consider treasured items, but for the sake of making this reply more interesting, I'm going to go with something I've got hanging on my wall, which spent about a year in space and got signed by the astronaut who took it there. There's less than 100 of them in the world, and while it's much newer and less sentimental than everything else I treasure, it's definitely something I'd be disappointed to lose.
For the next poster, if salary/location/etc wasn't a concern, what would be your one dream job?
-
This is weird af I know, but I would love to run a doggy daycare! I love the idea of big dogs playing with their friends they see at daycare each day. I would also dogsit for my special clients as well.

I can respect pineapple and pepperoni. I kinda enjoy pineapple on pizza myself (not often) so I cant really complain.
3Blue1Brown (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYO_jab_esuFRV4b17AJtAw) is a god-tier YT channel if you're into nerdy math stuff.
My less nerdy favs for a general audience are classics like Bill Wurtz (https://www.youtube.com/user/billwurtz) or SethEverman (https://www.youtube.com/user/SethEverman). If you want something educational SciShow (https://www.youtube.com/user/scishow) or Tom Scott (https://www.youtube.com/user/enyay) are also good channels to stop by.
I honestly can't pick one single favorite, right now it's 3Blue1Brown but maybe next week I'll be in a more Alan Becker (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbKWv2x9t6u8yZoB3KcPtnw) mood. (also god-tier if you've never seen it)
So, because I like weird nerdy things, What is the next poster's favorite key on the keyboard? There's a lot to pick from! (any and all keys allowed, even F24 if it's your jam.)
Alternative questions if you can't pick a key:
Favorite unit of measurement (of anything!)
Favorite material
Favorite wavelength of light (if you can't think of anything for any other question, just look up your favorite color's wavelength in google "<color> wavelength")

Close second is probably alt cause it helps out with programming and it lets me undelete text

I absolutely love fall! My favorite activity is hanging out around a campfire. I know that some people consider this a summer, activity, but I find it way too hot to enjoy being around the fire. I love bundling up and sitting around the fire with friends, drinking cider and just enjoying each other's company. I'd say a close second has to be cooking soups (I'm from the midwest, I have to say that :P)

Would the next poster live in space?
I've thought about this several times. I take living in space to mean on a starship or on a space station, and the answer is yes I'd love to try it. It's so different and unique, I find the idea exciting. I feel like every day in space would be interesting and you'd learn something new. As long as I can come back home to Mars at some point, I'd love to do it.

What's the next posters favourite vc drama ?
This is a hard one, but for me the farm ban drama was very entertaining, in retrospect. It caused a lot of shit between players and made a lot of people angry, but the process of making the policy, as a political science student, was very entertaining and interesting. And, in the end, the ban was removed later, so nothing was really affected in the long run.
What is the next poster's opinion on ginger ale? As a Michigan resident, my blood is basically made of Vernors, but I know that it is a controversial drink. Also, what about cream soda?

Personally, ginger ale is not bad. I typically only drink it when I am under the weather. I do prefer ginger ale when it comes from a glass bottle! As for cream soda, it is personally one of my favorite drinks!
What is the next posters favorite cryptid? (An example is my personal favorite is mothman.)

I don't know if favorite is the right word but I feel like I have to say Bigfoot. My dad told me about Bigfoot when I was 8 years old and I looked up a bunch of creepy videos of it on YouTube. Weeks of nightmares ensued. I distinctly remember screaming and crying in the middle of the night because I couldn't stop thinking about Bigfoot coming to get me, waking up my parents who desperately tried to assure me that Bigfoot was not real so that I would go back to bed. (It didn't work very well). My mom really hated my dad for telling me about him. The best part of this is that we lived in the flattest, driest, desert-y region of West Texas. Sasquatch being notorious for hanging out in heavily wooded/snowy locations.

(It didn't work very well). My mom really hated my dad for telling me about him. The best part of this is that we lived in the flattest, driest, desert-y region of West Texas. Sasquatch being notorious for hanging out in heavily wooded/snowy locations.
What is the next poster's favorite fall/halloween themed movie or tv show?
I really like to watch any horror movie during Spooky Season(TM). I also really like the classic animated movies like Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
What is the next poster's opinion on winter? Is it better than summer? Why or why not?

What is the next poster's opinion on winter? Is it better than summer? Why or why not?
I ADORE Winter!! I like getting to bundle up and wear my sweaters! Hot food is the best especially when it's cold outside! It's always the slow season at work so I get plenty of time to recharge in the form of vacations and friend time. I also get overheated very easily which makes me sick so I don't really like summer for that reason and probably why I prefer winter so I don't get heat sick. Summer is fine. Fall and Spring are my favorites, but Winter is better than Summer to me!
What does specific fall activity does the next poster have to do every year? (Ex: Carve a pumpkin, go to a fall festival, drink a pumpkin spice latte)
-
An activity that I always do every fall is carve pumpkins with my dad. Halloween is his favorite holiday, and so we often celebrate by decorating this house, but his favorite thing to do is carve pumpkins, and he is super good at it. Maybe if I can get some pics from him I'll post them.
For the next poster: how did you start playing VillageCraft?
-
For a few months prior Chaos and I used to occasionally play on another much smaller server (called BirdCraft I think, long gone now), which shut down rather suddenly and unexpectedly. Needing somewhere new to play, we checked around one of the MC forums that was around in those days, saw VillageCraft, logged on to check it out, and never looked back :) I'm fairly sure the first few buildings in our village were built that very same night, and just expanded out from there.
Totally not influenced by me eating dinner right now, what's the next poster's favourite type of pizza?
-
Meatlover's, by far.
In the spirit of Halloween, what is the next poster's LEAST favorite candy?
-
I used to always find it weird when I'd get home from Halloween, dump my haul on the table, and there would be these weird loose unwrapped caramels. It looked like someone had a bag or tin of them and just gave them out individually to kids. Those were always slightly scary to eat.
Anyways so my answer is caramels, both because they were definitely poisoned, and because they also just aren't very good. It's hard to suck through an entire one, your mouth gets so nasty, it's kindof gross.
Does the next poster choose mild, medium, or spicy (or insane infernal death) food when given the option?
-

If you asked me a few months ago, I would have said mild. I had absolutely no spice tolerance. Now, I've been working on that a bit, and would probably choose medium. I'm still working on it, and I can't handle much more than sriracha or buffalo wing, but I am trying because I think that they taste good and it would increase the available foods to eat astronomically.

Alright, so maybe my question was bad then. I'll try again.
What is your favorite thing to do on your days off (from work or school, depending on age) to help you relax or decompress?
-
While thinking about it I realised I don't get many days off because I always seem to be busy, but in my free time I do enjoy tinkering with things and coding. Some of that is for VC on projects that may or may not see the light of day, but I also enjoy coding and building other there things. One of my current goals (which I've been putting off for ages as I never find time) is to make a fun lamp with a few different LEDs in it that change colour like a cross between a mood lamp and a lava lamp, maybe controllable from my phone. We'll see

I honestly feel like I can't decide, but cherry pie has always been one of my favorites if not #1. I love the way my mom makes it.

I mean I get the appeal of them and their convenience, but I don't like either as I'm not a fan of this new-fangled idea where everything is a subscription and I never end up owning the things I'm paying for, and where providers sometimes take a huge chunk of the artists's earnings. There's been plenty of cases where both have screwed over both artists and customers, and neither sit well with me. Maybe I'm just old but I do miss the days when you used to be able to buy a CD and own it forever, or even downloading it from iTunes or other similar services and that file be yours. It doesn't surprise me people are turning more towards "piracy" by downloading music from various sites, because at least that way it's permanent, and the naive part of me wants to believe people will support their favourite artists in other ways. Long ramble, sorry

For Christmas 2019 my spouse's aunt got me a PhoneSoap. You can check out their website - www.phonesoap.com. I thought it was the strangest gift ever, and turned out to be so helpful once the pandemic hit a few weeks later. We would put phones, keys, credit cards, whatever in it. DDR's iPad that he had to take to school, etc. Weird, then oddly useful.

I can make those!
Also, living in Texas it would be SO USEFUL to speak fluent Spanish. I speak very little and would love to learn. Might put that on my list for 2023..

New Year's resolutions don't usually work for me in any capacity because I pretty much just don't see the point. Since most people admit that they never work, why try anyway? This year I decided to have a vague New Year's resolution to build skills, and although I've kind of forgotten about it already, I think I have been stumbling in the right direction. I have definitely done more ambitious things this year.
What is the next poster's favorite kind of pie? (Mine is cherry)

I would say either pecan or key lime pie. Apple and pumpkin are both strong contenders simply because they absolutely hit the spot for holidays.

Would the next person rather be dirt poor but truly happy or filthy rich but miserable?

Would the next person rather be dirt poor but truly happy or filthy rich but miserable?
As a parent, I have to go with filthy rich and miserable, because even if I wasn't happy I could make sure that my family and my kids had everything they needed, and I could help other people. Dirt poor me couldn't be truly happy because I'd be worried about taking care of my loved ones.
Oops, forgot to ask a question - !

I'm actually thinking of moving somewhere by the beach after college, so... the beach. The ocean is one of the coolest things ever to me and I probably would've majored in Marine Biology if I didn't seriously suck at science. Screw dealing with hurricanes though.

I love sweet black hot tea! I have been really into Irish Breakfast for the past year, but I'm trying to branch out more. One of my all time favorites is Darjeeling Estate black tea, which is from India. I'm more of a tea person then a coffee person for sure.

My favorite thing to do for my birthday is to go out to eat with some close friends. I really love food, and getting to enjoy good food with good people is one of life's greatest pleasures. Either that or going to concerts, which is appropriate for almost every scenario.

Ginger ale is like the mild form of root beer, but I like ginger ale a lot. Root beer used to be my favourite drink, but after drinking it once at 5 AM I got some acid reflux and ever since it's been repulsive to me.
