Title: Stop and Think
Post by: Runek on 14 November 2012, 10:55:55 AM
Hello Everyone,

On Friday morning an employee of the company I work for lost her five year old daughter in a house fire.

I realize there is a degree of separation in this, and that bad things happen every day.

What I ask is that today, you stop and think before responding to a rude comment or getting upset or irritated at someone (even if they deserve it). Just once today, shrug it off.. let it go, and don't rise to the bait. If we all do the right thing even just once today, we will have cooperated to make the world a better place in honor of a little girl who didn't have the chance.

Thanks all, and have a great day.  :)

I am very impressed, Runek. This was a very heartfelt and genuine post. I agree, let us remember her, and ALL who died well before their time, by acting like civil, caring, intelligent human beings. I commemorate my post to two friends, Michael R. Hayes and William A. Allers, who gave their lives in Iraq with my unit when we were there in 2004-2005.

I don't have the exact details. Needless to say this is a tragic event that puts the frustrations and irritants that most of us deal with on a daily basis into perspective.

On a side note: Doc, my respects to your unit and the families of those two brave soldiers. Support a war or don't.. But always support the troops. Thank you for serving your country.

Very true. Kind of like when I get angry about something, my mom reminds me "Well at least you have legs" since my Uncle was in an accident on the job and had to have both of his legs amputated.

I also second what Runek said. You and the rest of the soldiers are very brave, Doc.
